Edmonton Oilers General Manager Steve Tambellini announced today forward Taylor Hall has a high ankle sprain, which takes eight weeks to heal, therefore sidelining him for the remainder of the 2010-11 season.
 
Hall injured his left ankle in the Oilers 4-2 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets last night, after getting into an altercation with Columbus forward Derek Dorsett.
 
Steve Tambellini says, “Taylor is one of the most talented and competitive young players I've seen in the game, unfortunately he was hurt last night, but I'm confident he will work extremely hard  through this injury to continue and grow as a true impact player for the Edmonton Oilers and the NHL.  Time frame for rehab of his injury will give him plenty of time to have a solid summer of training to be ready for next season.”
 
In 65 games with the Oilers this season, Hall lead the Oilers with 22 goals and tallied 42 points along with 27 penalty minutes.
 
Hall says, “I’m obviously very disappointed with the MRI results today, however I know this isn’t going to slow me down.  I’m hoping for a quick recovery and can hopefully get back on the ice soon and get ready for next season.”
