Hemsky, Hall & Eberle selected to attend 2011 NHL All Star Weekend

Hemsky, 27, has 24 points (9-15-24) in 27 games this season with the Oilers. The Pardubice, Czech Republic native will be making his first appearance in the All-Star game having been named to the 2003 NHL Young Stars Game but forced to miss the event due to an injury. In 470 career games, the 6’0, 185-pound forward has recorded 377 points (109-268-377).
Hall, 19, and Eberle, 20, are enjoying solid rookie campaigns with 23 points each on the season. Hall, who is from Calgary, Alberta, has 12 goals and 11 assists while Eberle, who hails from Regina, Saskatchewan, has nine goals and 15 assists. Both are currently tied for 5th in NHL rookie scoring and Hall is also tied for 3rd in goals for a rookie.
The NHL, working in conjunction with the National Hockey League Players’ Association, replaced the traditional conference vs. conference format for the All-Star teams with a player draft that will determine the team rosters for the 2011 NHL All-Star Game as well as the Honda NHL SuperSkills®. The Jan. 28 NHL All-Star Player Fantasy Draft will be televised live nationwide on TSN in Canada and VERSUS in the U.S. at 6 p.m. MST from NHL Fan Fair™ at the Raleigh Convention Center.
The 2011 NHL All-Star Game will mark the first time Carolina has hosted NHL All-Star activities. The League’s mid-season spectacular will take place Saturday, January 29 and Sunday, January 30 and will include Honda NHL SuperSkills® and the 58th NHL All-Star Game at the RBC Center. Live television coverage of both nights will be provided by VERSUS in the U.S. and CBC and RDS in Canada. The Honda SuperSkills® will begin at 5 p.m. MST on Saturday, and the 2011 NHL All-Star Game presented by Discover will start at 2 p.m. MST on Sunday.
