Sweden doubled up the Czech Republic 6-3, setting the stage for Friday's huge match-up with Canada. The winner of that game will advance to the semi-finals while the loser will have to play in the quarters.
Swedish captain and Oilers prospect Anton Lander picked up an assist in the victory. Lander also had four shots on goal and was +1.
Slovakia, minus suspended Oilers prospect Martin Marincin, dropped a 6-4 decision to Switzerland which ensures they will end up playing in the relegation round. With only three games left now, it also ensures that Marincin's tournament is done.
Slovakia's final round robin game is tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. Mountain time when they will take on Oilers prospect Toni Rajala and Team Finland. The Finns have an opportunity to win Group A but they'll need help from the Swiss in the form of a victory over USA.
At 2:00 p.m. Mountain Time, Canada will face Sweden in what will be the tournament's marquee match-up to this point. Olivier Roy is expected to get the start in goal.
