Oilers recall Jeff Petry
General Manager Steve Tambellini announced today the Edmonton Oilers have recalled defenceman Jeff Petry from the Oklahoma City Barons of the American Hockey League.

Petry, 23, is currently in his first professional season and has recorded 21 points (7-14-21) in 32 games with the Barons. The 6’3”, 200-pound defenceman was originally selected by the Oilers in the second round (45th overall) in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.

The Ann Arbour, Michigan native, played three seasons of NCAA College hockey with the Michigan State Spartans before making his professional debut in 2009-10, appearing in eight games for the AHL’s Springfield Falcons, recording three assists and two penalty minutes.

In 118 career games with the Spartans he tallied 67 points (9-58-67) and 86 penalty minutes while being named to the CCHA’s All-Rookie Team in 2007-08 and was an NCAA West Second All-American Team member and a CCHA Second All-Star Team member during his final season in 2009-10.

Edmonton Oilers hockey is presented in part by the Rexall Family of Pharmacies, Molson Canadian, ATB Financial, Cenovus Energy and Ford.
