Four of those prospects played on the tournament's first day with three coming away with a victory and playing big parts in their respective wins.
Team Canada doubled up Russia 6-3 during the afternoon. OIlers prospect Olivier Roy made 24 saves as Canada outshot Russia 42 to 27 in the victory.
Curtis Hamilton had a successful outing for the red and white with a goal, two shots and a +2 rating. He also added two penalty minutes.
"We're four lines deep and had a lot of success tonight," Hamilton told NHL.com. "The butterflies were there in the early going, but as the game wore on, we got more comfortable and played really well. We came out strong and it's good to get this first win out of the way."
Anton Lander had two assists, four shots on goal (all in the second period) and a +3 rating to help lead Sweden to a 7-1 win over Norway on Sunday.
Toni Rajala had an assist and led Finland with six shots on goal but the Finnish squad fell 3-2 in overtime to USA in their opening match-up.
