Penner Goes Five-Hole

After battling back from a three-goal third period deficit, the Oilers set themselves up well for what would eventually result in a thrilling overtime victory.

Following a turnover in the neutral zone, Dustin Penner turned on the afterburners and skated in alone, one-on-one with Canadiens goaltender Carey Price. Penner made a slick backhand move, sliding the puck five-hole and ending the game; the team's second consecutive victory.

Jones Completes the Play

This past Saturday night's battle with the St. Louis Blues was a scoreless tustle until early in the third when a revamped line came to shine.

The play begins with a beautifully placed soft aerial pass from Sam Gagner. Magnus Paajarvi collected the puck just outside the offensive blueline, where he then swapped sides with winger Ryan Jones. Paajarvi went wide, pulled the puck to his backhand, and placed a precise pass into Jones'  wheelhouse. The gritty forward finished off the wonderfully orchestrated passing play and provided his team with a 1-0 lead.

Hall & The Electric Conclusion

For the second time in three games, the Oilers headed to overtime as the team looked to extend its winning streak.

After Andy McDonald and Shawn Horcoff collided in the neutral zone, Ryan Whitney collected the puck at his own blueline where he found a streaking Taylor Hall busting up the left side. The dynamic winger skated in alone and wasted no time in making his choice. A quick snapshot through the legs of Blues goaltender Jaroslav Halak ended the game in an instant, bringing the sold-out Rexall Place crowd into a frenzy and extending the winning streak to four.
