Oilers assign Martin Gerber

General Manager Steve Tambellini announced today the Edmonton Oilers have assigned goaltender Martin Gerber to Oklahoma City of the American Hockey League. Gerber, 36, had played in 13 games this season with Oklahoma City before his recall posting a 9-4-0 record, 2.56 GAA, .911 save percentage and one shutout. The 6’0”, 199lb Switzerland native appeared in two games with Edmonton going 2-0-0 with a 1.50 GAA and .950 save percentage.

The Oilers recalled Gerber on an emergency basis on November 18 after placing Nikolai Khabibulin on the injury reserve list.

Gerber was signed as a free agent by Edmonton on August 6, 201
