Vote for the Snickers Play of the Week - November 22-28

Hall's Game-Winner

It was a spectacular moment. Edmonton's prized first overall selection electrified Rexall Place in an instant and provided his team with an important two points.

The play started when Jordan Eberle came rushing down the wing and began working his magic behind the net. After shaking the check of defenceman John-Michael Liles, Eberle found Hall camped at the side of the net as he yelled for the pass. The precise transfer landed on Hall's tape, where he collected the puck for a brief moment before firing it over the shoulder of Peter Budaj.

With only 28.1 seconds to play, the goal stood up as the game-winner secured Hall's spot as the game's first star.

Gagner's Drive & Persistence

Although the Oilers found themselves in an early 1-0 deficit vs. San Jose, the team responded quickly.

Dustin Penner collected the puck in the high slot, where he then made an excellent soft-area pass to a forgotten Sam Gagner down low. Gagner made a few moves before placing a shot on Antero Niittymaki. The initial shot was stopped, but Gagner followed his rebound and, despite being off-balance, reached around the sprawling goaltender to notch his sixth tally of the 2010-11 season.

Vandermeer's Blast From the Point

After Shawn Horcoff kickstarted a late third period rally vs. San Jose, Jim Vandermeer brought the Oilers within one.

While the goal itself was relatively simple -- a one-timed blast from the point with traffic --  the effort leading up to the shot is what made this play special. Furious forechecking pressure from Sam Gagner, Ryan Jones and Magnus Paajarvi was an incredible display of teamwork. The trio got in hard on the San Jose defence, making sure they were fighting for every inch of real estate.

The puck support and communication allowed Ladislav Smid to pinch in along the half-boards where, Gagner covered and collected the puck at the left point. He then proceeded to move to the middle and feed Vandermeer with a perfect pass for the goal.
