“I really believe in these programs and it’s nice to be able to come out and play with the kids,” said Strudwick. “The kids are great and I just love their energy.”
Foster added, “It’s just nice to give back. When I was a kid, I lived in an NHL city, but I never had a player come to my school and I know how important that would have been to me.”
The Inner City Children’s Program has been providing quality recreational and educational programming to children and youth in the community for the last 15 years. The programs allow inner city children to play in a safe and supportive environment that promotes healthy alternatives and diversity of experience.
“It’s awesome because a lot of these children don’t get the opportunity to do these programs because their parents don’t have access to day care,” said Khatidja Khalfan, Director of Programming for the Inner City Children’s Program. “Were always looking to expand and always looking for volunteers to come out and help with the kids.”
