Movember (the month formerly known as November) is a moustache-growing charity event held during November each year that raises funds and awareness for men's health.
This year, 10 Oilers players will be participating in the event. Check back regularly for updates on how your favourite Oilers are doing.
Last November the Oilers organization joined the Movember movement raising over $25,000 for Prostate Cancer Canada. Eight Oilers players, the entire Oil Kings roster and 19 staff members spent the month of November growing moustaches while raising $25,658.
In Canada, a total of 35,085 Mo Bros and Mo Sistas participated in Movember last year raising over $6,400,000. The money raised in Canada goes directly to Prostate Cancer Canada who will use the funds for the development of programs related to awareness, public education, advocacy, support of those affected, and research into the prevention, detection, treatment and cure of prostate cancer.
The Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation graciously accepts online donations. A tax receipt will be issued for donations over $10 if requested.
