Rod Phillips returns to the mic Saturday night

Rod has selected 10 games for broadcast as part of ‘Rod’s Classics’ as he makes a final tour of the NHL cities and teams that evoke some of the greatest memories and moments in Oilers history.
Tomorrow it’s the ‘Battle of Alberta’ when the Oilers take on the Flames for the second time this year. November 5 the Detroit Red Wings are in Edmonton for game two of Rod’s Classics bringing to mind the early days of Rod calling Original Six teams against the fledgling Oilers and the Oilers upset 2006 playoff series win against the Wings on their way to the Cup Final.
Other games selected by Rod include the teams the Oilers were victorious against to win their five Stanley Cup Championships and games against Phoenix, formerly the Winnipeg Jets, and Dallas which will highlight Stanley Cup playoff moments, goals, and battles.
Joining Rod to make guest appearances though the course of the Rod’s Classic’s 10-game series will be former Oilers Colour Commentators Jim Matheson from the Edmonton Journal, Oilers great Dave Semenko, original Oiler Ken Brown who also was a Colour Commentator and Morley Scott the longest serving Oilers Colourman. Former players, coaches and managers from Rod’s Hall of Fame broadcast career will also highlight every Rod’s Classic game through the course of the season.
