Taylor Hall, the No. 2 ranked North American skater, paid a visit to Edmonton today. Meeting with Oilers staff for lunch, followed by a tour of the Oilers Dressing Room, Hall was introduced to what life would be like as a potential Oiler and Edmontonian.

“I think it’s a great city. I was here for the Heritage Classic and that was such a unique experience. It just really portrayed how hockey crazy this city is and at the lunch people were already coming up to me and recognizing me so it would be pretty cool to play here,” said Taylor Hall.

“I was just wondering how people were drinking beer at that game [Heritage Classic], it was so cold.”

Hall’s afternoon was rounded out by a media conference held at the Sutton Place Hotel. The 18 year old answered questions ranging from what winning the Memorial Cup was like to what it feels like to be a coveted player in the NHL Draft.

Finally off to dinner with Oilers GM, Steve Tambellini and team owner Daryl Katz, Hall left off saying, “If I’m fortunate enough for the Oilers to pick me, I can be a part of a young team that’s on the rise and a part of this city that really loves the game.”

Currently playing for the Windsor Spitfires, Hall tied Seguin for the OHL scoring title, has a silver medal from the World Junior Championship, a pair of Memorial Cups, and just last week became the first player in the 92-year history of the Memorial Cup to win a second-straight tournament MVP award.

As for the Draft on June 25, Hall said, “I got asked a question the other day, ‘And the Edmonton Oilers select?’ and as soon as they say the team whether it’s the Spitfires or Plymouth Whalers, I’ll know where my hockey future lies. “

Following Hall, the No. 1 ranked North American skater, Tyler Seguin, is expected to visit Edmonton next week.
