Canada also officially registered forward Jordan Eberle, an Edmonton Oilers’ draft pick, with the International Ice Hockey Federation. Eberle has been with the team as an alternate player since it convened as a group on May 2. He was activated on the evening of May 13 and is eligible for Canada’s first qualification round game on May 14.
Dubnyk, 24 years-old, played in his first National Hockey League season appearing in 19 games with a 4-10-2 record, 3.57 GAA and .890 save percentage. He is on his way to Germany and will join the team tomorrow.
Canada has now registered the maximum of 25 players for the 2010 IIHF World Championship. That includes three goaltenders, eight defencemen and 13 forwards. The 25th registered player, Ryan Smyth, has returned to Canada after suffering an injury earlier this week.
