Eberle posted one goal and three assists to lead all skaters with four points and earn Player of the Game honours for Team Canada.
In the following game at SAP Arena in Mannheim, fellow prospect Magnus Paajarvi-Svensson continued to impress Oil Country by registering a goal and an assist in Sweden's victory over Latvia. Paajarvi was also named a Player of the Game.
CAN 12 - NOR 1
Listed as an alternate at the start of the tournament, Eberle participated in one exhibition game and has been practicing with the team for the past 10 days in Germany.
Canada found themselves in a 1-0 hole early in the game after Jonas Holos beat goalie Chris Mason at 1:35.
Evander Kane tied it up before the first period ended, but it was in the second that Eberle exploded.
As Canada pulled away from Norway, Eberle pulled ahead on the leaderboard, registering assists on Marc Giordano, Rich Peverley, and Kane's goals.
With Canada leading 8-1 after 40 minutes, the 19-year-old forward opened up the final frame with his first World Championship goal and fourth point of the game.
The humble Saskatchewan native credited his teammates for his success.
"The game almost gets a little easier when you're playing with such good players," he said to the IIHF. "Passes are always right on the tape, and you can do things you can't do in junior. The guys are always talking to you."
Oilers GM Steve Tambellini continues to be impressed by the young forward's skill and poise.
"I was watching most of the game with (Oilers Assistant Coach) Tom Renney and we were commenting how relaxed Jordan looks," Tambellini said after the game. "He just has such poise with the puck."
"To perform at that level, under the pressure of Team Canada & World Championships, does it surprise me? Maybe a little but I'm getting used to it."

Although the Latvians quickly answered, Sweden held the lead throughout the game and sealed the win with a goal by Tony Martensson. Paajarvi earned an assist on the play, bringing his four-game total to six points and lifting him into a tie for second in tournament scoring. Eberle is tied for 10th.
Fellow Swede and Oilers prospect Linus Omark earned four penalty minutes and one shot in the game.
