Holidays & Matinees
I don't have very much to write about so this will be a short entry. Last Thursday Sam, Andrew and I went to Erik Cole's house for American Thanksgiving dinner and it was awesome. I haven't had Thanksgiving with my family in a long time so it was nice to have them do this for us. They cooked an enormous 30 pound turkey and had all the usual Thanksgiving foods which were delicious.

The Strudwicks and Steve Staios were also there, along with a friend of Erik's and all their kids. There were probably only six kids there but it felt like more. Sam, Andrew and I had to trade off who went downstairs to play because it was exhausting but we all had lots of fun. After the meal we watched football and hockey and then ended up with Wedding Crashers. It was an awesome night.

Then we went on our short weekend trip to St. Louis and Dallas which went by really quickly. We spent most of our time travelling so I didn't do anything too exciting in either of those cities. I really like playing afternoon games and I think a lot of guys feel the same way. You can wake up, eat breakfast, relax a bit, and then the game starts right away. You don't have all day to think about the game and work yourself up about it, so it's nice and quick. Then you're done by four or five most of the time. The sun is still up and you can go for a nice dinner and relax and get to bed at a decent hour. You've got lots of time to unwind after which isn't always the case during night games.

Other than that, the only other thing I really did this week was watch Four Christmases. It was alright.

Talk to you next week.
