General Manager Steve Tambellini announced today the Edmonton Oilers have agreed to terms with Linus Omark on a two-year NHL entry level contract.

Omark, the Oilers 4th choice, 97th overall, in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, played 56 games in the KHL with Moscow Dynamo this season collecting 36 points (20G, 16A).

The 23-year-old native of Overtornea, Sweden, played four seasons for Lulea HF in the Swedish Elite League prior to playing with Moscow. In his last year with Lulea HF the 5’11, 188-pound winger scored 23 goals and added 32 assists for 55 points in 53 games.

General Manager Steve Tambellini announced today the Edmonton Oilers have agreed to terms with Chris Vande Velde on a two-year NHL entry level contract.

Vande Velde, the Oilers 5^th choice, 97^th overall, in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, recently completed his fourth season with the NCAA’s University of North Dakota. The 6’2”, 204-pound centre from Moorhead, Minnesota, led the team in scoring this season with 41 points (16G, 25A) in 42 games.

The 22-year-old recreation and tourism major signed an Amateur Tryout (ATO) with the Springfield Falcons.
