Brule's 16th goal of the season and 36th point came at 5:52 into the second frame. He raced down the ice where he took a nice feed from Tom Gilbert. He positioned himself at the top of the circle and fired a hard slap shot right over the shoulder of Curtis McElhinney to tie the game 1-1.

Gilbert Brule was one of the most impressive forwards on the ice tonight. He came out with energy, speed and an intense desire to score a goal for his team. Brule picked up the first goal for the Oilers that tied the game at one a piece. Brule fired a hard slap shot from the top of the circle that flew right over the shoulder of Ducks netminder. He had five shots on net tonight and improved his record to 16 goals and 36 points and was a +1 on the game.

"I have a lot of good friends over there [in Anaheim] so it would've been nice to have bragging rights but we didn't play good enough to win. We had a better third but we gave up two goals to lose."
-Ryan Whitney comments on losing to his former team.
"That was definitely disappointing because we've played some pretty good hockey at home and that was definitely a winnable game in our minds."
