Today’s donations were a result of the monies raised through the Oilers Ladies and Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation’s in-game initiatives this season, including Rally Against Cancer, Ornaments of Hope and Oilers Favourite Things.
“This donation makes such a difference to us; we don’t have a corporate sponsor or government funding and we fundraise every penny ourselves,” said Karmen Masson, Executive Director, Suit Yourself. “We are extremely grateful; this amount of money will help carry our organization for more than six months.”
The Oilers Ladies final fundraiser this season will take place during Friday night’s game versus the Anaheim Ducks. Raffle tickets will be sold in-game and 25 game-worn, autographed jerseys will be given out by the players at the end of the game. Proceeds from this event will support the Winnifred Stewart Society, Habitat for Humanity and the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation.
The Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation (EOCF) is dedicated to building strong and vibrant communities by contributing its resources and financial support to charitable organizations that serve the residents of Oil Country. The EOCF has worked to change lives in Oil Country through their support of a host of deserving organizations. The Foundation gives back in excess of $1.5 million annually to registered charities throughout Central and Northern Alberta who focus their activities on youth, education and health and wellness.
Edmonton Oilers Hockey is presented in part by Rexall Family of Pharmacies, Molson Canadian, ATB Financial, TELUS, Cenovus Energy and Ford.
