At the 6:58 mark of the opening period, Nilsson gladly welcomed a nice cross-ice pass from Marc Pouliot and danced around Christian Ehrhoff to go hard on Luongo. Nilsson made no mistake tossing the puck past Luongo's short side. That was the Oilers forth shot of the night and Luongo's second goal allowed.

20 Daniel Sedin scored his 20th of the season Mar.20th. That is his 5th season in a row with 20+goals.
37 Luongo has 37 wins in 61 games-good enough to be tied for 4th in the NHL in wins.
67 Henrik Sedin currently leads the NHL in assists with 67 (through Mar. 22/10).
14 Canucks set a new NHL record for longest road streak this year going 14 on the road passing Calgary's previous record of 11.

With 2:05 left to play, the Canucks were in desperation mode looking for the tie. Could Deslauriers hold on for the last two minutes and keep the Canucks from forcing overtime? Wellwood handed Deslauriers one of his toughest challenges. He fired a wrist shot hard on net but Deslauriers was there to stretch out into the splits and rob him one last time. Deslauriers did hold on for the last two minutes and the two points tonight.

Jeff Deslauriers was up to the challenge tonight against a strong offensive Canucks team. JD was faced with 10 shots in the first, 12 in the second and 11 in the third and only saw two pass the goal line. He robbed Wellwood of his five shots, stoned Raymond on five of his six shots and kept the Oilers in the game the entire night. JD picked up the first star tonight with the win.

Henrik Sedin set a new Vancouver record after recording his franchise-leading 416th career assist on March 14th versus Calgary. Sedin set the new club record faster than any player in Canucks history, accomplishing the feat in 715 career games.

"They say your best player has got to be your goalie. I think tonight he made three or four saves that he'd like to look back on and they'll probably be on the highlights tonight."
-Tom Gilbert comments on the stellar performance of Deslauriers.
"Luongo has a big reputation, obviously with a Gold Medal. It's nice to get a win against a guy like that. He has a few from me in Vancouver."
-Jeff Deslauriers talks about beating Luongo.
