General Manager Steve Tambellini announced today the Edmonton Oilers have acquired defenseman Aaron Johnson and a 3rd round draft pick from the Calgary Flames in exchange for defenceman Steve Staios.

Johnson, 26, had played in 22 games this season for the Flames recording a goal and two assists with 19 PIM.
The 6’2”, 211lb rearguard was originally drafted by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 3rd round, 85th overall in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
