Lubomir Visnovsky's Slovakia squad dropped a 3-1 decision to the Czech Republic on Wednesday. Visnovsky had four shots on goal in 17:46 of ice time with an even rating. Jaromir Jagr had a goal and an assist for the Czechs.
After a bit of a slow start, Canada came on strong in an 8-0 win over Norway on Tuesday. Jarome Iginla scored three goals to the lead the way for the Canadians in their tournament-opening win.
Denis Grebeshkov and Team Russia got off to a fast start in the late game against Latvia, eventually winning 8-2. Grebeshkov had 15:45 of ice time, ranking him second among Russian blueliners. He also had a +1 rating and one shot on goal.
On Thursday, Canada returns to action and plays Switzerland at 5:30 p.m. MST. Denis Grebeshkov and Russia face off against Lubomir Visnovsky and Slovakia at 10:00 p.m. MST.
