General Manager Steve Tambellini announced  today the Edmonton Oilers have recalled forward Marc Pouliot from Springfield (AHL).

Pouliot was placed on the NHL Injured Reserve List to start the season after suffering from a sports hernia. He was sent to Springfield on a conditioning loan Tuesday, where he has appeared in four games recording a goal and five assists.

The 24-year-old Quebec, PQ native played in 63 games last season recording eight goals and 12 assists.

He was originally drafted in the 1st round, 22nd overall in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
