Oilers welcome the Olympic Flame to tonight's game
“The Oilers are thrilled to welcome the Olympic Flame and some of Oil Country’s world famous athletes to Rexall Place tonight,” said Patrick LaForge, Oilers President & CEO. “Tonight’s game is an incredible opportunity for Oilers fans to feel the power of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games!”
Tonight’s sold out game versus the Penguins begins at 7:30pm. Before the two teams go head-to-head in a battle for two points, the Olympic Flame will be carried to centre ice at Rexall Place by a few of our special guests.
“We’re thrilled to be able to share the Olympic Flame with Oil Country,” said Dave Cobb, VANOC Executive Vice President & Deputy CEO. “The Flame has traveled across Canada for the past three months with a message that these are ‘Canada’s Games’ and this special stop is a unique way for Canadians to engage in this exciting journey.”
Edmonton Oilers hockey is presented in part by the Rexall Family of Pharmacies, Molson Canadian, ATB Financial, TELUS, Cenovus Energy and Ford.
