Oilers forward started season on NHL Injured Reserve due to sports hernia

General Manager Steve Tambellini announced today the Edmonton Oilers have assigned forward Marc Pouliot to Springfield (AHL) on a conditioning loan.Pouliot was placed on the NHL Injured Reserve List to start the season after suffering from a sports hernia. He has missed all 43 games this year. The 24-year-old Quebec, PQ native played in 63 games last season recording eight goals and 12 assists.
He was originally drafted in the 1st round, 22nd overall in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
