World Juniors: Eberle Player of the Game
Jordan Eberle had two goals and a shootout marker vs. USA
Five Oilers prospects are suiting up for their respective countries at the IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships in Saskatchewan from December 26, 2009 through January 5, 2010.

Magnus Pajaarvi-Svensson picked up one goal that contributed to Sweden's 7-1 win over Finland this afternoon. For the Fins, Teemu Hartikainen had the lone goal. Paarji-Svensson is now tied with three other players for second place for tournament scoring leader with eight points. Jordan Eberle now leads the pack with 10 points.
Canada and USA battled in the late game tonight. This was the first time that Canada has been down by any number of goals. Not just once but twice going into the third period. Jordan Eberle snagged Canada's second goal of the night that tied the game 2-2 but USA battled back and went up 3-2 with just 10 seconds to play in the second frame.

The USA came out strong in the third scoring just a minute in to go up 4-2. Jordan Eberle picked up his second goal of the night at the halfway mark of the third bringing Canada within one. Things began to get a little tense when Eberle too a high-sticking penalty late in the game. It was Alex Pietrangelo who found some shorthanded action by deeking past three USA players and tossing in a top-shelf game-tying goal. With 2:10 to play in the game, Canada scored what looked like the game-winner however it was disallowed and the game went on.

The fans rose to their feet yet again as the Canadians forced OT. Nothing was solved in OT which leads us to the thilling shootout. Jordan Eberle got the first goal in the shootout but it was Brandon Kozun who was the hero with the game-winning goal.

Jordan Eberle moves into lead scorer of the tournament with five goals, five assists for 10 points. He picks up his second player of the game for Canada tonight as they move along in this tournament.
