Oilers legend Kevin Lowe joins the hockey talk today on \"NHL Hour with Commissioner Gary Bettman\"
NEW YORK – Legendary Edmonton Oilers defenseman Kevin Lowe will be a guest on today's edition of NHL Hour With Commissioner Gary Bettman on SIRIUS XM Radio and streamed live on NHL.com.
Lowe, who currently serves as the President of Hockey Operations for the Edmonton Oilers, won six Stanley Cups with two different teams during his illustrious, 19-season NHL career. That career began 30 years ago Saturday, with Lowe scoring the first goal in franchise history when the Oilers played their first NHL game on Oct. 10, 1979, at Chicago.

Among his many accomplishments, Lowe holds the Edmonton Oilers record for most regular season and playoff games played. The franchise's first-ever NHL draft pick, he was selected an NHL All-Star seven times, Edmonton's defenseman of the year three times and the winner of the 1990 King Clancy Memorial Trophy for "leadership qualities on and off the ice" and for making "a noteworthy humanitarian contribution in his community."

In his honor, the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League created the Kevin Lowe Trophy, which is awarded annually to the player in the QMJHL judged to be the best defensive defenseman.

NHL Hour with Commissioner Gary Bettman broadcasts live on Thursdays from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. ET on NHL Home Ice (XM Channel 204 and on SIRIUS Channel 208 as part of the "Best of XM" programming package) and NHL.com.
