The Edmonton Oilers Hockey Club’s first-ever concert event at TELUS Field held last night featuring Big & Rich raised $55,000 for the Donna Moore Memorial Trust Fund. This donation was made possible through a silent auction, 50/50 draw, donations at the door and the Edmonton Oilers and Big & Rich making a donation for each ticket purchased.
“We are more than pleased to make a significant contribution to the Donna Moore Trust Fund”, stated Oilers President and CEO Patrick LaForge. “It was a memorable night for a number of reasons. The concert was terrific, TELUS Field was the best venue possible and the folks who attended had a great night. On top of it all, thanks to the fans, Big & Rich and Johnny Reid we were able to make a sizeable donation to the Donna Moore Fund.”

Over 5,000 fans attended the Big & Rich concert featuring Cowboy Troy at TELUS Field. The line-up also included Dean Brody, the Mike Plume Band, Johnny Reid, Sebastian Bach & Gord Bamford.

The Edmonton Oilers next concert engagement at TELUS Field is September 4th when Bryan Adams comes to town to ‘Rock the River’ as part of the Oiler Face-Off 2009 weekend. On September 5th, the Edmonton Oilers will take to TELUS Field in the Oilers & Friends Softball Classic to kick off the 2009-10 season. A $5 donation will be made to the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation for each Oilers & Friends Softball Classic ticket purchased. Tickets for both events are available on www.ticketmaster.ca.

Edmonton Oilers hockey is presented in part by the Rexall Family of Pharmacies, Molson Canadian, ATB Financial and Ford.
