The Edmonton Oilers Rookie Camp is scheduled for September 6th-11th, 2009 when 26 Edmonton Oilers rookies, draft choices, free agents and invited players will vie for an opportunity to participate in the team's main training camp.

Twenty-six prospects will report to Rexall Place on Sunday, September 6th and will undergo medicals and fitness testing in the Edmonton Oilers dressing room.

For the second time in as many seasons, the Oilers Rookies will face-off against a team of rookies from the Vancouver Canucks as part of their rookie tournament. The Oilers Rookies will host the Canucks Rookies on Thursday, September 10th in Leduc, Alberta.

The Rookie Game in Leduc on September 10th will feature action both on and off the ice. Oilers Event Crew will be set-up on site with a variety of activities for those in attendance, including the Top Shot machine. A fan favourite, the Oilers Fanboni, will also be there. Throughout the game, Oilers t-shirts will be given away to a number of lucky fans in attendance.

The University of Alberta Golden Bears will join the Oilers and Canucks for this season's tournament. They face the Canucks on Wednesday, September 9th at Clare Drake Arena and take on the Oilers for their annual match-up on Friday, September 11th.

As always, the Edmonton Oilers are pleased to support communities throughout Oil Country.  Proceeds from the September 10th game will stay in Leduc, directed to the Leduc Minor Hockey Association and other local charities will benefit.
