Big & Rich concert to benefit Donna Moore Memorial Trust Fund
Johnny Reid added to August 25 performance
The Oilers and Big & Rich are committing $10 from the sale of ALL tickets for the Big & Rich featuring Cowboy Troy concert at TELUS Field on Tuesday, August 25 to the Trust Fund. Lloydminster resident Donna Moore was fatally injured at the 2009 Big Valley Jamboree.
“There are times when everyone needs to do the right thing, and this is one of those times,” said Oilers President and CEO Patrick LaForge. “This is a significant gesture by Big & Rich. The Oilers and our Foundation will also lend all the support we can that night and I just somehow know Oil Country will respond. The people who live here always do, especially when you think of the help Donna Moore’s children will need.”
“We were immediately struck by the sadness of what happened at Big Valley,” stated John Rich of Big & Rich. “We’ve performed at Big Valley. We have stood on that stage with other artists and fans and the news really hit home with us. We immediately knew we needed to do something to help so we invite all music fans to join us at TELUS Field for a great evening and an opportunity to contribute to the Fund in support of Donna Moore’s children.”
Previously announced as the supporting acts for Big & Rich featuring Cowboy Troy on August 25th, were Dean Brody and the Mike Plume Band.
Added to the line-up today is Johnny Reid, who will perform a partial set. Reid, recently nominated for six major 2009 CCMA Awards, performed last weekend on the Big Valley Jamboree stage.
Tickets for the concert are currently on sale at all Ticketmaster outlets, online at ticketmaster.ca and via charge-by-phone at 780-451-8000. Tickets are priced at $59.00, $44.00 and $39.00 plus convenience charges.
