Edmonton Oilers and EPCOR Welcome Kyle Shewfelt To Rexall Place
The Edmonton Oilers and EPCOR will welcome Olympic Gold Medallist Kyle Shewfelt to Rexall Place on Friday, January 26th, when the Oilers meet the San Jose Sharks.

As part of EPCORs Parade of Champions, Kyle will give local fans the opportunity to see Canadas first ever Olympic Gold Medal in artistic gymnastics, which Kyle won at the Athens 2004 Olympic Games.. Fans will also have the opportunity to meet the 2004 Canadian Male Athlete of the Year during a second intermission autograph session.

"Its always a treat to host athletes like Kyle Shewfelt at Rexall Place, and to give fans the opportunity to thank him for making Canada proud," said Patrick LaForge, President & CEO of the Edmonton Oilers. "Kyles Gold Medal in artistic gymnastics is an inspiration for many up-and-coming gymnasts, and proof that dreams can come true."

EPCOR is an Official Supplier to the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games and an Official Supplier to the Canadian Olympic teams in 2008, 2010 and 2012. EPCOR and GE are also co-sponsors of the Gold Medal Plates program, the proceeds from which support the Canadian Olympic Foundations Own the Podium and Road to Excellence initiatives.

As well as winning a Gold Medal at the 2004 Athens Summer Games, Kyle has also won 4 Gold, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze at the Commonwealth Games, 3 World Championship Bronze medals and numerous other medals on the World Cup circuit, his most recent being a Silver at the 2006 World Cup Finals. These accomplishments have made Kyle Canadas most successful gymnast in history. Kyle is presently training and looking forward to the opportunity to defend his Olympic title at the 2008 Summer Games in Beijing, China.
