Edmonton Oilers and EPCOR welcome Danielle Goyette to Rexall Place

The Edmonton Oilers and EPCOR will welcome Olympic Gold Medallist Danielle Goyette to Rexall Place on Friday, November 24th, when the Oilers meet the Chicago Blackhawks.

As part of EPCORs Parade of Champions, Danielle will give local hockey fans the chance to see her most recent Olympic Gold Medal, won at the 2006 Torino Winter Olympics as a member of the Canadian Womens Hockey Team. Danielle will also sign autographs for fans during the second intermission.

"We are honored to have Danielle join us at Rexall Place, and Im sure our fans will raise the roof when they congratulate her on her third Olympic medal," said Patrick LaForge, President & CEO of the Edmonton Oilers. "Danielle has been a long standing member of the Canadian Womens Hockey Team, and has helped raise awareness of womens hockey across Canada."

"Danielle Goyettes long-standing dedication to her sport and her country is a tremendous inspiration," said Denise Carpenter, EPCORs Senior Vice President of Public and Government Affairs. "Our Parade of Champions, program is part of a larger community investment strategy by EPCOR to provide amateur sports federations with the funding they need to develop Olympians like Danielle Goyette. The goal is to send more Canadians to medal podium in Beijing and in Whistler."

As well as winning a Gold Medal at the 2006 Torino Winter Games, Danielle also won a Gold Medal at Salt Lake City in 2002, and a Silver Medal in Nagano in 1998. She is also a 8-time World Champion, helping Canada claim the title in 1992, 1994, 1997, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2004 and 2005.
