The Edmonton Investors Group announced today that Patrick LaForge, President & CEO of the Edmonton Oilers, has renewed his contract and will stay at the helm of the hockey club for another four years.
The Edmonton Oilers have announced that Craig MacTavish has agreed to a new four-year contract with the team.
MacTavish returns to the Oilers after guiding them to the 2006 Stanley Cup Final for the first time since 1990.
General Manager Kevin Lowe says MacTavish brings superb leadership to the Oilers. "From his role as a team captain while a player, to his tenure as coach of the Oilers, Craig has been a superb leader. He has the unique ability of being demanding of the players, but he also has a great understanding of what makes todays NHL player successful."
