Sunday, January 18th will see another great Edmonton Oilers player honoured by having his number raised to the top of Rexall Place in a pre-game ceremony. 

To launch the Glenn Anderson celebration the City of Edmonton will once again host a Civic Ceremony at City Hall, open to the public and the many fans who cheered for and watched Glenn during his spectacular career with the Oilers in Edmonton. The Civic Ceremony will begin at 12:00pm on Friday, January 16th in the City Room at City Hall.  The ceremonies to honour Glenn at City Hall and at Rexall Place are presented by the Rexall Family of Pharmacies. 

In preparation for the Anderson Jersey Retirement presented by Rexall on January 18, 2009, the Edmonton Oilers will reveal the Nine Days of Anderson, a variety of Glenn Anderson features and historic moments presented online at edmontonoilers.com beginning January 10, 2009.

Glenn Anderson is joining the other Oilers players who have been honoured by having their numbers raised in a pre-game ceremony, Wayne Gretzky, Mark Messier, Jari Kurri, Paul Coffey, Grant Fuhr, and Al Hamilton, at Rexall Place on January 18 when the Oilers play the Phoenix Coyotes. The ceremony begins at 6:00pm and the puck drops at 7:00pm. All fans with tickets are asked to be in their seats by 5:45pm.

The entire pre-game ceremony and the game will be carried live on Molson Canadian Oilers Pay Per View beginning at 5:45pm MST on Sunday January 18th.
