Oilers recall Gilbert Brule from Springfield

General Manager Steve Tambellini announced today the Edmonton Oilers have recalled centre Gilbert Brule from the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League.
This will be Brule’s second recall to the Oilers this season. The 5’10”, 180 pound native of Edmonton, Alberta was first recalled to Edmonton on December 5th and made his Oilers debut in a 3-2 overtime win at San Jose on December 6th. He is scoreless and even in two games with Edmonton this season.
Brule has scored 11-5-16 with 34 penalty minutes in 19 games with Edmonton’s AHL affiliate. The 21-year-old forward is third on the Falcons scoring list and is second in goals, while being tied for the team lead with six powerplay goals.
The Edmonton Oilers 30th Anniversary Season is presented in part by the Rexall Family of Pharmacies, Bell, Molson Canadian, ATB Financial and Ford.
