Oilers assign Brule to Springfield
Centre played two games with Oilers since recall on Dec. 5th
General Manager Steve Tambellini announced today the Edmonton Oilers have assigned centre Gilbert Brule to the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League.
Brule was scoreless in two games with the Oilers after being recalled from Edmonton’s AHL affiliate on December 5th. The 5’10”, 180 pound native of Edmonton, Alberta became the sixth player to make his debut with the Oilers this season when he skated in Edmonton’s 3-2 overtime win at San Jose on December 6th.
Brule scored 8-4-12 with 32 penalty minutes in 15 games with Springfield prior to his recall and the 21-year-old forward was third on the Falcons scoring list and second in both goals and powerplay goals (3).
