Oilers Continue Support of Christmas Bureau Through "Shirts Off Our Backs"
ATB Financial Partners to Expand Initiative
The Oilers Ladies launched Shirts Off Our Backs over 20 years ago. "It began, and remains, an opportunity for Oilers fans to make a donation to the Christmas Bureau at an Oilers home game in exchange for chance to win autographed Oilers jerseys. That tradition will continue this year on December 19 when the Oilers host the Anaheim Ducks at Rexall Place on “Shirts Off Our Backs Night”.
This season ATB Financial has partnered with the Oilers to expand the program to all of its branches in the Greater Edmonton area. From December 1st through 24th, Oilers fans will be able to donate at an ATB Financial Branch for a chance to win one of 28 autographed Oilers jerseys. All proceeds will be donated to the Christmas Bureau of Edmonton.
“The Shirts Off Our Backs promotion for the Christmas Bureau is another exciting example of the way the Edmonton Oilers and ATB Financial can work together to do great things in our community," said Sandy Chipchar, ATB's Chief People and Marketing Officer. "The Oilers Ladies and Oilers fans have made such a positive impact on so many families through the ‘Shirts Off Our Backs’ program, and we're so proud to join this wonderful team."
The Oilers Ladies and Oilers President of Hockey Operations Kevin Lowe are Honourary Co-Chairs of the 2008 Christmas Bureau of Edmonton campaign.
“We welcome ATB Financial to the Christmas Bureau family,” said Kevin Lowe. “Clearly they are committed to our Team, the community and their partnership with ‘Shirts Off Our Backs’ will be felt by many families this holiday season.”
The Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation will also be launching its annual Online Auction in support of the Christmas Bureau on December 3rd at edmontonoilers.com.
The Edmonton Oilers 30th Anniversary Season is presented in part by the Rexall Family of Pharmacies, Bell, Molson Canadian, ATB Financial and Ford.
