Oilers Pay Per View now in High Definition
The Edmonton Oilers today announced that for the first time in club history, all Pay-Per-View games this season will be available in HIGH DEFINITION.

The Edmonton Oilers 2008-09 Pay-Per-View high definition season begins October 22nd when the Oilers travel to Chicago and play Patrick Kane and the Chicago Blackhawks. It will be the first of 12 Pay-Per-View HD broadcasts during the 2008-2009 season and brings to Oilers fans the 12 games that otherwise would not broadcast by any other network.

With most Oilers Pay-Per-View providers, customers can choose to purchase all 12 games in Standard Definition for $139.95 or the High Definition full season 12 game package for $159.95.

Single game purchases are available for $13.95 in Standard Definition or $15.95 in High Definition.

“We are pleased to be able to provide our Pay-Per-View product in High Definition and we have been working toward offering Oilers PPV in Hi-Def for some time now,” stated Allan Watt, Oilers Vice-President of Broadcast and Communication. “There is no question HD is now an expectation for sport fans and Oilers Pay-Per-View subscribers time and again offered feedback that they wanted the broadcasts to be in HD. We’re thrilled to be able to offer that service as part of this year’s package”.

The Oilers PPV lineup this year is also stronger than ever before. The Oilers will host the Stanley Cup Champion Detroit Red Wings, Thursday November 20 on PPV and on December 19th the Anaheim Ducks visit Rexall Place for a PPV matchup.

Then in January the Oilers will celebrate Glenn Anderson’s induction to the Hockey Hall of Fame by raising his #9 jersey to the top of Rexall Place when the Oilers host Wayne Gretzky and the Phoenix Coyotes with full coverage on Oilers PPV. Oilers Pay-Per-View will also be there for the Montreal Canadiens first visit to Rexall Place since 2005-06 as the Habs visit Edmonton on Wednesday, February 11th.

Oilers fans can now order Oilers PPV by contacting your digital TV service provider.
