The 6’1”, 180 pound native from Prerov, Czech Republic joins the Oilers following the completion of his sixth season playing in Europe. The 22-year-old blueliner spent the 2007-08 season with Severstal Cherepovets of the Russian Superliga where he scored three goals and ten assists for a career-high 13 points and added a single-season high 76 penalty minutes in 56 games.

Prior to playing in Russia, Hrabal played five seasons in the Czech Republic’s Tipsport Extraliga with HC Vsetin. After playing several seasons of junior hockey with HC Vsetin’s Under-17 and junior teams, he made his debut with the club’s top team in 2002-03.
Showing steady improvement since making his Extaliga debut, Hrabal played in the Czech Republic’s top league for five seasons before moving on to play in Russia. In his final season with HC Vsetin, he scored three goals and seven assists in only 21 games in 2006-07 to tie for third place on the team scoring list despite leaving the team halfway through the season to play in Russia.
