Gagner's goal in Atlanta the top play from January 17 to 24

Sam Gagner's highlight reel goal against the Atlanta Thrashers on January 20 was voted the top play of the week by a wide margin, picking up 53.6% of the vote. The goal came 15:55 into the second period, 1:06 after Atlanta had tied the game at 1-1. The Oilers would never relinquish the lead after that goal, going on to win 4-2.
Coming in second was Jarret Stoll's miraculous game-tying marker against the Florida Panthers last Thursday. The goal was Stoll's second in 31 seconds and came with 52 seconds left in the game. The goal received 17.1% of the vote.
Third place was Dustin Penner's tic-tac-toe goal from January 17 against the Washington Capitals 6:49 into the second period. Penner completed a three-way passing play that included Shawn Horcoff and Ales Hemsky. Penner's goal picked up 6.9% of the vote.
