Dwayne Roloson

The Edmonton Oilers have obtained goaltender Dwayne Roloson from the Minnesota Wild in exchange for the Oilers first round choice in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft and a conditional draft pick dependent on the Oilers resigning Roloson.

In 24 games with the Wild this season, the 61", 178-pound native of Simcoe, Ontario is 6-17-1 with a 3.00 goals-against average, a .910 save percentage and one shutout. He has combined with Manny Fernandez for a 2.59 team goals-against average to rank Minnesota fifth in the NHL.

Now in his eighth NHL season, Roloson has played 269 career games with Minnesota, Buffalo and Calgary. He has a career record of 89-116-43 with a 2.50 GAA and 17 shutouts.

The 36-year-old netminder has played the last four seasons with Minnesota since signing as a free agent with the Wild on July 2, 2001. In 2003-04 he registered career bests and Minnesota franchise records with a 1.88 GAA, a .933 save percentage and five shutouts as he compiled a 19-18-1 record. His .933 save percentage led the NHL and earned him the MBNA/Mastercard Roger Crozier Saving Grace Award, while his 1.88 GAA was second in the League. He was selected to the Western Conference All-Star Team for the 2004 NHL All-Star Game, becoming the first Wild goaltender to be so honoured.

He is 6-7 in 15 career Stanley Cup Playoff games with Minnesota and Buffalo. He made his post-season debut with the Sabres in 1998-99 and helped Buffalo reach the Stanley Cup Final that season. With Minnesota, he was 5-6 with a 2.59 GAA in 11 games during the 2003 playoffs, helping the Wild defeat the Vancouver Canucks in the Western Conference semi-final.
