The Edmonton Oilers wrap up their two day Southern California road trip tonight against the Anaheim Ducks.
This is the first meeting of the season between the Ducks and Oilers and first meeting since the Oilers signed forward Dustin Penner to an offer sheet this past summer.
Edmonton dropped its first game of the trip last night against the Los Angeles Kings by a score of 4-1 despite outshooting the Kings 35-31.
Last year's Stanley Cup Champions, the Ducks have stumbled out to a 4-7-1 start this year and have lost each of their last three games heading into tonight.
Just The Facts...
OILERS TO WATCH: Dustin Penner makes his return against his former team tonight and all eyes will be on him this evening. In 11 games so far this season, Penner has two goals and three assists for five points. He's also tied for second on the team in shots on goal with 28... Mathieu Garon is expected to make his first start since being pulled back on October 12 against Vancouver. In his only other start, he led the Oilers to a 5-3 win over the Philadelphia Flyers with 22 saves. In his career versus the Ducks, Garon has a record of 3-5-0 with a 3.67 goals-against average.
DUCKS TO WATCH: With the offseason departures of.Teemu Selanne and Scott Niedermayer, Ryan Getzlaf has emerged as the new offensive leader of the club. Getzlaf has 10 points in 11 games this season. Chris Kunitz and Corey Perry have eight points each while former Oiler Chris Pronger leads all defencemen with seven points in 12 games... Defenceman Francois Beauchemin has led the Ducks in icetime in seven of 12 games this season. Back on October 12 against Detroit he logged 34:45.

The Ducks have only 25 goals in 12 games, averaging just over two goals a game...
