Oilers name Stu MacGregor head scout

“We are pleased to announce the appointment of Stu to this new position,” said Kevin Prendergast, the Oilers Vice President of Hockey Operations. “He has a great background in the game, coming from one of the best organizations in junior hockey. He was the general manager of the Kamloops Blazers and also served as the team’s assistant general manager and director of player personnel.”
In his new position with the Oilers, MacGregor will be responsible for the team’s amateur scouting staff and will run Edmonton’s table at the NHL Entry Draft.
Now in his eighth season with the Oilers, MacGregor joined the Edmonton scouting staff in 2000-01. Based out of Kamloops, British Columbia, he covers junior and college games in western Canada and the United States and also travels to the major international tournaments around the world. Prior to joining the Oilers, MacGregor was a member of the Dallas Stars scouting staff.
