The Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation today announced the launch of an exciting, new charitable lottery in Northern Alberta – the Cash Is King Lottery.
The all-new Cash is King Lottery features 8,049 prizes in all, including 3 grand prizes of $1 million dollars each. There are also prizes of $250,000 and $100,000 while a number of winners will take home prizes in the $50,000, $25,000 and $10,000 varieties. Oil Country has never had a charitable lottery that gives away this much cash and it does not stop there. Early purchasers who get their ticket before the October 18th Early Bird deadline will be eligible for 3 prizes of $100,000 each.
The Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation Cash is King Lottery will also feature 15 Ultimate Sports Vacations in its $5.3 million prize package. Sports fans can win trips overseas to the Beijing Olympics or the Monaco Grand Prix, or take in such legendary events as the Super Bowl or the Masters. Plus, each of these vacations will be given away with $5,000 spending money.
“Since its inception in 2001, the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation has created a number of community initiatives that focus on education, health and wellness, and youth programs in Oil Country,” said Darryl Lindenbach, Executive Director of the EOCF. “The proceeds from the Cash is King Lottery will go to fund the development of a new Inner City High School and residence, that we also announced today, as well as enabling the Foundation to increase its contribution to charities throughout northern Alberta.”
The Cash is King Lottery is projected to raise over $2.7 million dollars.
