The 61", 185-pound native of Shaunavon, Saskatchewan had been placed on the injured list after suffering a dislocated right shoulder during the pre-season. He underwent surgery on the shoulder on October 17th and has been in Edmonton undergoing rehabilitation with the Oilers medical staff since then.
Hunter previously injured the shoulder during the 2004-05 season while with the Edmonton Road Runners of the AHL. Despite the injury, he scored 13-11-24 in 64 games for the Road Runners.
In 123 career AHL games, the 25-year-old forward has scored 25-27-52 with 106 penalty minutes.
