The Power Of Pink returns to Rexall Place, as the Edmonton Oilers Ladies once again score an assist in raising funds for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
Fans attending Saturday night's Oilers game against the Chicago Blackhawks will have another opportunity to purchase an Oilers ballcap for only $20. Each of the ballcaps are autographed by an Oilers player in silver or gold ink. If the ballcap is signed in gold, the fan instantly receives one of 26 autographed sticks, signed by the entire Oilers team.
"Our first fundraiser during Breast Cancer Awareness Month was such a huge success that Oilers fans who were unable to purchase a hat demanded that we 'think pink' once again," said Wendy Smith, wife of Oilers Captain Jason Smith. "Breast cancer affects one out of every nine women in Canada, and over 21,000 new cases will be diagnosed this year. It's time we put a stop to it."
The Power Of Pink originally ran on October 21st, when the Oilers played the Colorado Avalanche. The fundraiser was such a huge success that every autographed ballcap sold out before the start of the game.
The Edmonton Oilers Ladies will be selling the ballcaps at three locations on the main concourse of Rexall Place. Fans who purchase a ballcap will also receive a pink bracelet compliments of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. The fundraiser is in support of Breast Cancer awareness and research.
