A third period goal by Fernando Pisani was the difference as the Edmonton Oilers defeated the Columbus Blue Jackets 3-1 Friday night at Nationwide Arena. Jason Smith and Radek Dvorak, with an empty netter, also replied for Edmonton. The Oilers road trip continues Sunday in Chicago. Game time is 5:00 p.m. on Rogers Sportsnet West and Cool 880.
