Oilers obtain Krys Kolanos off waivers

As well, defenceman Marc-Andre Bergeron has been activated from the NHL Injured Reserve List for tonights game against the Columbus Blue Jackets and goaltender Ty Conklin has been placed on the NHL IRL, retroactive to November 3rd.
He played for Blues Espoo of the Finnish League and Krefeld Pinguine of Germany during the 2004-05 season.
The Coyotes first choice, 19th overall, in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft has scored 17-18-35 with 74 penalty minutes in 109 career games with Phoenix. In his rookie season in 2001-02, Kolanos scored 11-11-22 in 57 games to finish tied for 8th in rookie goal scoring and he led all NHL freshmen with six game-winning goals. His first NHL goal came against the Oilers in a 6-2 loss on October 6, 2001 at Rexall Place.
A member of the gold medal winning Team Canada at the 2003 World Junior Championship, he played two seasons of collegiate hockey at Boston College. One of his most memorable moments came in the 2001 NCAA Final when he scored the game winning goal 4:43 into overtime to give the Eagles a 3-2 win over the University of North Dakota. Named an NCAA second team All-American in 2001, he scored 41-41-82 in 83 games with Boston College.
Bergeron returns to the lineup after missing the Oilers last three games (Nov. 4-8) after suffering a fractured finger on his left hand when blocking a shot in the third period of the Oilers 4-3 overtime win at Detroit on November 3rd.
Conklin has been placed on the NHL Injured Reserve List after suffering a groin strain while on a conditioning assignment with the American Hockey Leagues Hamilton Bulldogs.
The Oilers continue their season-high seven-game road trip against the Columbus Blue Jackets tonight. They then visit Chicago on Sunday, November 13th and Colorado on Monday, November 14th before returning home for a three-game homestand that will open against the Detroit Red Wings on Thursday, November 17th at Rexall Place.
