Defenceman Igor Ulanov has been activated from the National Hockey League injured reserve list and will be in the lineup for the Edmonton Oilers' season opener against the Colorado Avalanche tonight at Rexall Place.
Ulanov had been sidelined with a groin strain suffered during the pre-season.
With Ulanov's return to the roster, defenceman Dan Smith has been placed on waivers for the purpose of assigning him to the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League.
