Oilers To Use Pink Sticks In Support Of Breast Cancer Research
For the second straight year, TPS Hockey has joined forces with the NHL and NHLPA to pay tribute to hockey moms by having players utilize pink sticks. Each of the special edition pink sticks features the pink ribbonthe internationally recognized symbol in the fight against breast cancer. After being used in warm-up, each of the pink sticks will be autographed by the individual player, and then auctioned on eBay through the TPS Tribute to Hockey Moms Pink Stick auction.
"My mom is like the goal post, Im always using her for support," said Oilers goalie Dwayne Roloson. "She and the rest of the moms in any sport deserve to be recognized."
Proceeds raised through the online auction will support breast cancer research through the NHL/NHLPAs Hockey Fights Cancer program and its Canadian charity partner, the Canadian Cancer Society.
