Edmonton Oilers Assign Eight

The Edmonton Oilers have assigned eight players to their two American Hockey League affiliates.

Assigned to the Hamilton Bulldogs are Jeff Drouin-Deslauriers (G), Mathieu Roy (D), Jean-Francois Jacques (LW) and Marc-Antoine Pouliot (LW).

Going to the Iowa Stars are Kyle Brodziak (C), Matt Greene (D), Yan Stastny (C) and Zack Stortini (LW).

With the assignments, the Oilers now have 28 players remaining in camp; three goaltenders, nine defencemen and 16 forwards.

Edmonton concludes its eight-game pre-season schedule on Saturday, October 1st when they travel to Vancouver to take on the Vancouver Canucks at General Motors Place.

The Oilers open their 26th NHL regular season on Wednesday, October 5th when they host the Colorado Avalanche. The opening face-off for the season opener is 8:00 p.m. at Rexall Place.
